Comments Thread For: Bahodir Mamadjonov Released From Don King Productions

Lightweight prospect Bahodir Mamadjonov (16-1, 11 KOs) has been released from his contract with Don King Promotions. Mamadjonov's manager Ken Richardson said the agreement was mutual and cordial.

A native of Uzbekistan, Mamadjonov, 26, averaged a fight every seven weeks between May of 2011 and April of 2013. He signed with DKP after upsetting previously undefeated Angelo Santana (14-1, 11 KOs) via ninth round TKO on Showtime last April. [Click Here To Read More]

Well that was quick. Not even a year with King. Mama has good options. GBP should scoop him up.

Great news. King never even got him a meaningful fight. Baha is a talented and fun to watch fight. I wish him the best and this is great news for his career. It seems like he has a good team and realized going with King was a bad move.

In all fairness he is still a prospect, the Santana fight was a good win IMO. He was coming off a good showing and was being closely looked at as a developing heavy hitter.

For the best now Baha can get with a promoter who can keep him active

My problem was that King got Imam who fought on the Mamadjonov Santana undercard and Santana fights on shobox after the Baha win. While Baha has fought 3 times on untelevised cards in the same time period.

Wish him the best in his future fights

Baha has potential to win the future fights, it is better to get off from the King and be more flexible fighter. Don King was stealing his time without giving him a chance, now Baha will have more fights to come with WIN!!!!
