Comments Thread For: Adrien Broner: I Will Make History, Win a Title at 140

Former three division world champion Adrien Broner (27-1, 22KOs) is hoping to get a title shot in the near future to make boxing history.

Broner wants to become the youngest fighter to win four world titles in four weight divisions. He captured titles at 130, 135 and 147-pounds.

Last June, Broner skipped over 140-pounds to make a jump from 135 to 147. He captured the WBA world crown from Paulie Malignaggi, but lost the title six months later to Marcos Maidana. [Click Here To Read More]

It certainly would help him get some of his prestige back.

Garcia-Broner is a good matchup of Haymon hype jobs. But we all know they'll go after Peterson. Even somebody as skeptical as Khan went after that dude twice.

Shows how meaningless "x time champion in x divisions" really is. Other than lightweight, when has Broner beaten a champion that was actually the champion?

they will handle him a title at 140 for sure, but as soon as he steps up in competition again, he will lose it

They'll wait for garcia to vacate his titles later this year or early next, get someone from 130 ranked at #2 and put him up against Broner for one of the belts. Let the hype continue..wouldn't it be something if Molina shocked Broner..wouldn't that be something...

I agree - This guy is playing the Cherry Pick Game like an old pro...Saturday, he's being interviewed with the legit 140 lb champ (Garcia), and doesn't even hint at challanging him, or even conceding they may have to tangle in the future. INSTEAD, Broner says if Paulie wins, he'd try and go back to recapture the 147 belt, IMMEDIATELY after he said he was going down to 140. Broner is a clown of the highest order.

He's probably waiting for the great belt grab of 140 after Garcia leaves because he beats none of the champions at 140 right now
