In the opening bout, lightweights Percy Lee Peterson and Norberto Pantaleon fought to a four round majority draw. Peterson (0-2-1) dictated the pace in the first half of the fight, landing consistently with rights to the head. His punch output dropped in the second half of the fight, allowing Pantaleon (0-2-2) to walk him down, throwing and landing to the body. One judge scored the bout 40-36 in favor of Pantaleon, while the other two judges scored the bout 38-38.
