Eastman Beats Hopkins: Age, Money, and Silk Pajamas

Bernard Hopkins is in for a fight on February 19. He says that he’s been running at 4AM and that we are going to ask for his birth certificate because he is going to look like a 20 year old out there, but I don’t think so. No one can defy the ravages of father time. [details]

    Hopkins Ain't No Curry

BOXINGSCENE.com Article By Matteo Alderson ...

"Bernard Hopkins is in for a fight on February 19. No one can defy the ravages of father time.

On February 19 at the Staple Center we are going to see a shocking upset. Hopkins is old and ready to be taken. Remember Donald Curry ..... Curry was eyeing potential super-fights with Leonard and Hagler when Loyd Honeyghan, a Brit like Eastman, came in hungry and dethroned the Lone Star Cobra."

This article is half-baked sh#t that doesn't deserve to be shown on the Main Page of Boxingscene

#1 - Hops has defied the ravages of Father Time. Against Eastmen, Hops will again show-up looking like a 20-year old.

#2 - You ask "Remember Donald Curry?". Of course. Comparing Curry-Honeyghan and Eastman-Hopkins makes no sense. Hopkins has already proven that he is not a Curry-type champ who will be suddenly "exposed". Guys have been trying far quite a while to find some way to expose Hopkins'. Tito was supposed to be that guy, right? Eastman ain't him either. Time has shown that there's nothing to expose.

Curry lost to Honeyghan in Ring Mag's "Upset of the Year" and never recovered because he was had some kind of mental weakness. This weakness was simply exposed by Honeyghan and the weakness continued to be evident in Curry's post-Honeyghan fights, where he really was not the same fighter.

Hopkins has no underlying mental weakness, and there's no "Honeyghan" waiting to expose Hops. Hopkins mental toughness will be quite evident against Eastman, along with unparalleled conditioning, ring savvy and experience.
