  • Comments Thread For: Photos: Jorge Arce Has Emotional Visit With Carmona

Former four division world champion Jorge "Travieso" Arce was brought to tears when he traveled to Colombia to visit José Carmona, who is still in rehab after undergoing two operations for a brain clot which developed after taking a lot of punishment in his eight round knockout loss at the hands of Arce last November in Mexico. Following the match, Carmona was not responding well and he was placed on a stretcher and taken to a local hospital, where the blood clot was discovered and he underwent two surgeries.

          fcking Arce dude...

He wanted to feel the glory of victory, let himself get carried away and he just robbed a kid out of a happy life.

Don't remember where I saw it but the pictures don't do the moment justice. There's a video out there but you can tell it hurt arce seeing Carmona in that state. He completely breaks down when Carmona acknowledges arce and kisses his hand.

              Oh, please man. STFU.

It's the fight game... Emotions run high and the killer instinct kicks in when you are in the middle of combat.

              Arce is a class act.

I'm a mexican boxer, i know what it's like to be up there dude.
You can control yourself, ESPECIALLY someone as experienced as Arce.

The other guy was a very inexperienced kid and it showed.

I knew Arce a while ago, i've always had much respect for him. But he let himself get carried away.
I just hope the kid recovers.

I apologize for the STFU lol.

Anyhow... That's you though, not everybody controls emotions the same way. Arce is a warrior, a crazy little warrior. Even Golovkin gets out of character sometimes and looks at the opponents in taunting fashion when they're on the canvas. Their adrenaline is running and you can't fault a fighter for staying on that mentality and keep throwing punches.

Sure he might've but let's not blame him for this. These are part of the risks that you face when you get into boxing. You put yourself in a situation where you can seriously get hurt or seriously hurt the other opponent, it's a scenario with circumstances that could lead to fatalities... that is the reality of boxing.
