The potential to sustain an injury comes with the sport of boxing. Since when does a boxer drop out of a fight because he "might" get hurt?

Never understood the relentless hate towards Khan on NSB. It's pathetic that people bad-mouth him in every thread - you have to wonder whether race has something to do with it...

This a good interview; he came across well, and it's good to see he's giving something back to the local boxing community.

I like the fact that he pointed out that a guy like Kell Brook isn't on his level and he has no reason to fight him, but he somehow thinks he's on Floyd's level and deserves a fight with him without earning it first.

There were several contradictions mentioned during that interview and certain other things that do not add up for those who have a better understanding of the sport.

Khan: My TEAM told me not to fight Alexander (Big Contradiction to what was circulated)

Khan: Signed a contract received from Mayweather's team (Contradiction & untruth) -- Now unless the rules governing boxing contracts have changed recently and only for this particular instance, this can only be interpreted as a lie!

Only GBP can present a contract to Khan, it is GBP who negotiates with Mayweather Promotions, the terms of the agreement and fight -- Khan who is contracted with GBP cannot accept a contract directly from an outside Promoter since it would be a breech and becomes a legal issue.

Reference back to Pacman who took a bag full of cash to sign with GBP while contracted with TopRank -- Top Rank sued GBP and the mutual agreement was that since Pac signed a legitimate contract with GBP, while being under contract with TR -- That GBP would be able to recoup losses (Receive a percentage of revenue generated from every fight Pac has under the TR banner)

I forget how long this agreement was to have lasted, but what Pac did was illegal.

Point being: Khan cannot accept cash, a contract, nor can he negotiate with any other Promotional company while he is contracted to GBP. That is a contract breech and subject to legal recourse.

Khan: Kell brook in not on my level (Absurd comment)
Kell Brook is in line for a WW Championship fight on his next outing. While Khan has been talking for the last year.

When they have the biggest fight/payday of their life on the cards a few months later.

An injury could be anything with a cut being the most likely.

That fight was NEVER signed. Both camps came to the negotiation table and Floyd asked for random drug testing up until the day of the fight, a demand which Pacquiao refused ( but now is forcing other fighters to do) and made demands of his own.

Khan actually had a fight signed and dropped out of it. A huge difference.

No he didn't. You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

LOL he feared getting a cut in December would mean he couldn't fight in May? That's bull****. Fighters get injured even in training camp but it doesn't stop you from training. How does possibly getting an injury keep you from fighting?

This is all strategy from Khan's team and their strategy failed. Now he wishes he took the fight against Devon Alexander because at least a win over Alexander would have more likely gotten him a fight with Floyd.

Khan hasn't done anything of note in over a year and now he's paying for it.

Khan's a good sport. At least he admits Floyd called and spoke to him personally. Khan just needs to stay in shape and avoid injury to his chin in the meanwhile. No doubt, his and Floyd's name will come up as the next possible matchup.
