    Unbeaten super bantamweight prospect Rey Vargas (19-0, 15 KOs) won by eighth round TKO against Filipino Sylvester Lopez (21-7-2, 15 KOs) on Saturday night at the Estadio de Baseball in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico. Vargas visited the canvas for his first time in his career in the second round. The bout ended when Lopez’ corner decided not to continue the fight.


    In a stunner, female flyweight Jazmín “Dinamita” Ortega (2-2-1, 1 KO) won a ten round unanimous decision over former IBF world champion Irma “Güerita” Sánchez (28-7-1, 8 KOs).

    WBC lightweight silver champion Edgar Puerta (23-4-1, 19 KOs) won by fourth round TKO against Manuel Castro when Castro’s corner called off the fight.

    Very good fight, been watching this Rey kid for a quite while. Hope he gets on the North American networks soon. Future S. Sanchez comparison and next PFP small man from the great country of Mexico.

      He is a promising prospect, but I don't think he is ready to dethrone Kiko Martinez. Nacho Beristain is throwing his pupils to the wolves too fast. Felipe Orucuta and Julio Ceja have already lost their perfect record and the same may happen to Rey Vargas.
