Still until he can make his straight right work in a way that at the very least keeps people honest in relation to his left hook there are guys that will give him issues. That is a real issue for him, and taking away a left hook is a fairly basic thing if he doesn't have the right hand to back it up.

It is correct though that not everyone can do that or would be able to do that.
    Good post,I agree..Green K sir..

I guess It depends how you rated him before the fight.

As far as I'm concerned, his stock didn't drop. He is more or less the fighter I thought he was. He's a good and tough fighter, but he's not that top5 P4P fighter some people (hum hum Schaefer) tried to sell us.

He's like Abner Mares (not stylistically), good but not great. Nothing to be ashamed of really.

Yes it did for me. But all he needs is more big victory and hell be back.

Not for me. Herrera has been a thorn in the sight of many more known fighters. He's 140's Molina so to speak. That happens sometimes.

Did anybody else think of the donaire and Rigo fight while watching the garcia fight? It seem like Garcia was just looking for that homerun left hook all night but harrera just took it away with his movement.

                of course it did.

herrera's a good fighter, but he's been on ESPN for much of his career. danny didn't do a whole lot to convince me that he was in a higher class.

this fight doesnt' take away the fact that garcia knocked out khan, and beat the big bad wolf in lucas matthysse, but it should effect our evaluations of him as a fighter and champion as he moves forward.

mauricio herrera could easily be the lineal 140 lb champion. of course danny's stock dropped.

What "stock"? The guy has shown to be an average fighter. Just like Floyd, he employs the tactic of fighting guys at just the right time to give the illusion that he beat a great fighter or a fighter coming off a "great win".

His stock is the same has it has been, average. Expect the same thing to happen with Floyd if he faces Pac. People will realize then how easily floyd is toyed with, and people will realize that all this time he was indeed a cherrypicker, all the ducking will make sense.

The stock has leveled off for the moment,. Against certain fighters, yeah it's dropped a bit.

The thing is that I think Angel Garcia realizes all of this, and he was spot on in his instructions in the corner imo..just none of it translated. I think he is going to go back to the drawing board with Danny and bring him back to earth. It has been a fun ride for the past year, but time to get to doing what got him here otherwise a lot of fighters are going to attempt to implement this sort of blueprint and be able tighten up ALL fights on the scorecards.

I think Danny said the right things after the fight - he realizes it going to this hard forever. I liked hearing that.

so The good thing is that it gives him experience against a difficult style, the bad thing is that, unless improvements are made (right hand, inside game, uppercut imo) it provides somewhat of a blueprint for fighters who can take the tact that Herrera did.
