Tony Bellew tipped the scales at 197-pounds - 3lb under the cruiserweight limit - for his first fight in the division on Saturday night.

Bellew, a career-long light-heavyweight who lost to WBC champion Adonis Stevenson in his last fight, has chosen to move up to the 25lb higher weight limit in his bid to become world champion.

Bellew's height coupled with his relativity slight frame puts him in the unenviable position of not being entirely suited to either weight class. Despite the advantages that his height brought, as a 6'3" man I've always felt that he looked vulnerably thin a light-heavy.

The challenge now is to pad that frame out in a manner that doesn't leave disadvantaged at the heavier weight amongst men who are naturally bigger boned.

Yeah that's interesting. For years we have heard how he struggles to make the light-heavyweight limit and now what a relief to step up to cruiser is. Yet he still comes in 3lbs under the 200lbs limit? With that big a gap I assume that means he isn't cutting either which seems crazy. When he starts meeting legit cruisers that will be cutting to make the 200lbs limit and then rehydrating to much bigger than him on fight night he's going to struggle. Needs to start hitting the weights I guess and hope he can grow his frame into a legit cruiser's size.
