Comments Thread For: Ronnie Shields: I Would Never Let Lara and Charlo Fight

Trainer Ronnie Shields informed BoxingScene.com that he would never allow his two fighters, Erislandy Lara and Jermall Charlo, to face each other in the ring.

Shields was reacting to a recent story on BoxingScene.com, where Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer expressed his interest in matching Lara (19-1-2, 12KOs), the WBA's 'regular junior middleweight champion, in a unification fight against the winner of this Saturday's clash between IBF junior middleweight champion Carlos Molina (22-5-2, 6KOs) and Charlo (17-0, 13KOs).

He's right though. Same trainer, sparred for years, and right now that fight is worth peanuts and an interim belt on an undercard.

Who knows, maybe the fighters would be willing to do it. The comments are from the guy who trains them both. It's obvious why he's opposed too it.

What is this I hear? Did team lara just say there's not nearly enough money involved for them fight Charlo. What! Now when team Canelo say the same about them not wanting to fight Lara for the same reasons they call it ducking.(not a canelo fan btw). But when they do it, all of a sudden it's a Business Move. SMH. Why don't they call it like it is and say that the only reason they want to fight Canelo is because that's the biggest pay day for them out there. Such Hypocrites. Smh

Did you even read the article dummy how the **** is it only TEAM LARA when Ronnie Shields who is both Charlo and Lara's trainer made that statement on behalf of both of them it would be team LARA AND CHARLO if that was the case **** head lol Until you hear Laras Manager or someone of that capacity who is not also mutually associated with Charlo then it would be TEAM LARA
