Comments Thread For: Arum Pondering Gradovich-Lomachenko in Russia

Promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank is considering a couple of interesting options for featherweight titleholder Evgeny Gradovich — one is a defense against Jayson Velez on the June undercard to Sergio Martinez vs. Miguel Cotto, and the other is a potential unification bout against Vasyl Lomachenko in Russia.

    Lomachenko-Gradovich - "The Crimean War"

Loma'd have to be brave to go to Moscow.

Let Vasyl beat Salido first, ok Bobby?

I'd rather see Provodnikov vs Khabib.

Rigondeaux will be at the stage defying the winner of Salido-Loma against Arum's will. He will do the same of Gambia to Mickey. Rigo is willing to move up to 126

            Agree.

And even if Loma wins tonight (and I hope he does), Gradovich is no Salido. He is a very solid, world class fighter with all around good technique and great stamina, if not a ton of power. Loma needs some seasoning before challenging him.

I like Gradovich and agree he is world class but Lomachenko would make him look like a punching bag. That said because Gradovich doesnt have much power i bet Vasyl wouldn't mind fighting inside with him and it would lead to some excellent action in spots.

If Lomachenko wins today i would love to see a unification between them in Moscow with a co-main event featuring somebody like Povetkin, Lebedev, Kovalev, Provodnikov, Allakhverdiev. Mekhontsev and Gvozdyk who are also with Top Rank could be on the undercard.

                  I think it's a great fight.

                  Gradovich is one tough hombre.
