he might have been promised the fight for the future already. it makes no sense that he'd avoid mayweather. he has proved willing to take risks with lower rewards in the past.

Great response by Garcia, he has his own legacy to build. Honestly i don't think his dad will ever let him fight Mayweather.

DSG is a smart man. These guys are looking like thirsty thots in the street when it comes to Floyd right now. Not him though. Besides, Danny is young and only getting better. Floyd is great but he's getting older and don't be surprised if DSG moves up to ww and comes looking for Floyd real soon.

What risks??? He was an "opponent" for Khan. He was losing that one before catching Khan and wouldn't do a rematch. Then he goes on the sr citizen tour with a pointless rematch with Morales and Zab. And then he's basically forced into fighting Matthysse. Not forced in that he was scared and had to be made to do it. But he and Lucas were clearly the top two guys at 40 and Lucas was his mandatory. So if he didn't fight him and opted to vacated, it would be seen as a duck.

I think Garcia wants to keep that 0 for as long as he can. He can wait for Mayweather next year. There really is no one else up and coming that would get the fight over him once he is a WW.
Smart move by him. For all the **** he talks Angel has proven to be a shrewd tactician outside the ring guiding Danny's career as well as in his corner.
I say wait until September 2015, Floyd will be 38 and have retirement on his mind while Danny would be entering his physical prime.

yea I don't think danny is afraid to take the challenge but why do it when your still growing and learning. everyone keeps floyds name in they mouth on they knees begging to fight him. theres plenty of fights and money out there to make. build your resume up like a real fighter does

Translation: I'm waiting for Floyd to look like a washed-up 37-year-old in the ring, then I'll fight him.

What Angel/Hayman are doing is preparing Danny to take Cotto's place with the PR fans which=PPV power=$$$$. Thats why he is being sold to the PR's on the island. Then the FM fight will generate much more interest. IMO
