That's the impression I'm getting, too.

It really makes no sense. I mean, you can make a little bit of money in several fights, and risk losing your star power, or you can make a fuck ton of money in 1 fight, with an opportunity to shock the entire world. And if you lose, it's not a big deal, because no one thought you could win anyway.

People actually think Garcia wouldn't have fought Mayweather if he was offered for May, too. Seems clear to me he was told he wasn't going to get it and said, "Fine."

I don't know if he was ever formally offered the fight or not. But almost immediately after the Matthysse fight, Angel made it crystal clear that they didn't want a Floyd fight right now. So this statement by Danny is lil more than lip service. I have a hard time believing that having Garcia-Matthysse on his undercard wasn't to get his "next" opponent maximum exposure. Now I do think that Matthysse was the intended mark. But I'm sure Floyd probably wanted Garcia more than Khan or Maidana.

Too much is being made of Garcias comments here, he was probrably asked if he would fight FM and that was his answer. We all know if he had been been the one FM chose everyone would talking about how he has no chance of winning and he is another cherry pick.
