This much is apparently certain: junior welterweight titleholder Ruslan Provodnikov will make the first defense of his belt on June 14 on HBO.

Who he’ll defend it against is unknown for the moment — but not for long.

I'm a Provodnikov fan and I do NOT approve of Demarco as an opponent! It's a pointless fight.

Don't think Freddie will be crazy about this match up considering he trains them both . I assume he'd stay with Provo. Demarco is so tall with reach and Provo is small with short arms . It would be fun to see Demarco try to keep Provo at bay ,especially with little power.

demarco is not with golden boy? surprised he would rather fight him then rios at 147. i do think its got chance to be a great fight tho demarco looked good in his last fight which i believe was at 140

When has Demarco ever used his reach to keep an opponent at bay...nothing interesting about this fight. Demarco will stand in front of Provodnikov and get tee'd off on until whomever is in his corner that night waves it off.
