  • Comments Thread For: Arum Prefers Chavez vs. Golovkin, Not Ward, For Now

Even before Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. stepped into the ring for his rematch with Bryan Vera, promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank was already working on Chavez’s next fight. Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports reported on Feb. 26 that Arum was seeking a bout between Chavez and 160-pound titleholder for this July in the super middleweight division.

“It’s a great fight. It’s a fight that’ll do tremendous pay-per-view business,” Arum told BoxingScene.com on Feb. 28. “And both fighters seem to want the fight. … It’s a tough, tough fight. That’s what people pay for.”

Perhaps this was Arum's plan all along. To force Ward into legal problems by pretending he'll sign him to keep him away from Chavez.

Those legal problems been around a while. This is the third time Ward's suing Goosen.

Arum isn't going to let Ward fight Chavez unless he'll sign with him.
With Golovkin, he can make it a PPV and get options for his MW Korobov in the future

Arum, who promotes Chavez, would prefer that GGG fight Chavez, rather than Ward, who is not promoted by Arum.

                  This is news?
