Comments Thread For: DeGale: If Groves Beats Froch, We Can Do a Rematch

While last week's confirmation of Carl Froch's rematch with George Groves was greeted with the fanfare it deserved, James DeGale continued plotting his muted route to a world title.

Seven victims have suffered at the hands of DeGale since he slipped to his only defeat in 18 professional fights, a controversial points loss to Groves in 2011 that he still contests.

The acclaim that accompanied DeGale's Olympic gold medal at Beijing in 2008 vanished completely as Groves boxed his way to victory at the O2 Arena and a series of low-profile outings followed.

Groves has been ducking the rematch for a good 3 years now.

Degale must be losing a lot of sleep nowadays... He's gearing up to fight Gevorg Khatchikian in Bristol (lol) while his nemesis signs on to fight in potentially the biggest ever fight in the UK and definitely the most anticipated since the legendary Benn-Eubank II.

If Groves beats Froch he doesn't need to fight this DeGale guy who no one outside of Britain knows or cares about. Groves should fight Ward afterwards or another top super middleweight.

if groves beats froch groves will be going onto bigger and better things, while defail will be in groves rear view mirror languishing on ch5 and for anyone who thinks defail would beat froch with his slaps, or survive with out the fire power to stop froch coming forward but

Since the degail fight groves has gone on to bigger things

Degail's promoter has done a pizz poor job with matchmaking him

              He's gone backwards if anything

De Gale needs to get himself into contention first.

Nobody elses fault but his own that he isn't a world title challenger right now.

                  Did Groves earn his shot?
