Good he's left top fraud organization.

    Looking forward to this clash.

    Gamboa will KO glassjaw Mikey.
I get the fact that you like Gamboa as do I, but no serious boxing fan, at least not one who is a boxing purist can call Mikey Garcia "overhyped" and "overrated".

I do agree with you about his jaw, there are question marks and we will find out if he is related to Amir Khan in that area but Mikey is a solid and skilled fighter. He certainly does not deserve the diatribes you have spoken against him.

This is an industry practice.

In this case, there was a major Press and TV spectacular arranged in Miami AT GAMBOA'S SPECIAL REQUEST, and he didn't show up, saying later, that as he had not actually signed the contract he wasn't obligated.

Top Rank had already spent over a million dollars in promoting the fight, which documentation they presented in court. Gamboa was/is a fool, listening to Mayweather's whispering into his ear to leave Top Rank.

When the "chips" were down, Mayweather also reneged on his obligation to his long-time buddy-buddy Curtis Jackson with whom he was starting a boxing promotion company. He didn't put in his $2 mill share, and after the company had bought out Gamboa's contract for $1.25 mill an signed several other fighters, (using Jackson's money) he scrammed, leaving his good friend Jackson in a mess. To his credit, Jackson, did the best he could, and continued with the promotion company, taking over all the fighters already signed. Jackson's relationship with Top Rank is very good.

It also shows that Arum does not hold business grudges...regardless of what that dumbo Gamboa is saying, because if Arum didn't want this fight it wouldn't be held. From what he has shown mentally until now, I think he'll likely end badly.
    This guy knows his ****.

I know people in the biz and this is on point of exactly what went down. Good post...

With already wins over Salido and De Leon he was really coming up, a win over Juanma before he went downhill would have been huge. Arum really ****ed that up. That would have opened a looot of doors for Gamboa.

Then the whole Rios fiasco, he should have just taken the damn fight! That would have been the icing on the cake, he would have been the man in the lower divisions. I mean, Abril beat him.. Gamboa would have done so in a much more entertaining fashion IMO. But, looking at how his career really played out.. ****.
Yah I feel your pain with Gamboa's professional career. The way he took out Jorge Solis will forever be engrained into my memory. Swaying back and forth like a tornado and extremely explosive...He was in top form
