Comments Thread For: Jesus Rojas is Going To Return To Action on March 22nd

Jesus Rojas (18-1-1, 12 KOs) is back and returns to the ring on March 22nd in Puerto Rico, under the promotional banner of Javier Bustillo's Universal Promotions. Rojas will face Mexico's Juan Jose Beltran (28-20-1, 18 KOs) in a scheduled six round bout.

Rojas has been inactive since June 9th of 2012, when he fought to a two round no-contest with Jorge Arce. Rojas was down in the first round, but then started battering Arce in the second. After an accidental foul, Arce said he couldn't continue and the fight was stopped. Rojas was furious after the stoppage, claiming Arce refused to continue because he didn't want to jeopardize a planned fight with Nonito Donaire.

That's good. I had big hopes on this kid when I first saw him on a Cotto undercard in MSG. I hate how he got played dirty when Arce decided to ***** out in the 2nd round of their fight when it was clear his momentum had begun and Arce realized it wasn't going to be a walk in the park. Here's hoping he can get himself back into the mix against some top notch opponents in the future.

All he had to do was not hit Arce with 3 illegal blows and not retire for over a year afterwards.

Arce would stop him? Rojas got up from the KD and blitzed Arce. Arce wanted none of it.
