Former four division world champion Erik Morales (52-9, 36KOs) is training for what might be the final fight of his career, when he faces Jorge Paez Jr. (37-4-1, 22KOs) on March 22 at Arena Monterrey in Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The most important aspect in training that Morales is working on, is speed, to keep up with the younger boxer. If Morales is successful, he wants to face a major opponent in the fall and then announce his retirement.

Would Rather See Morales FINALLY Get His Fight With JMM Who Ducked Him Whole Career

Morales can't beat anyone. Forget the speed factor, he just can't take punches anymore. It's too bad that Juan Manuel Marquez ducked Morales their entire career. WHile they both fought Barrera and Pacquiao multiple times, Marquez never wanted to fight Morales. Early on they were gym partners, then had a falling out, and Marquez held a grudge. Obviously those sparring sessions behind closed doors during their prime found Morales handing Marquez' azz to him on a platter, and word never leaked outside. As recent as a year prior to Marquez-Pacquiao 4, Marquez was offered Morales in Texas Stadium, which would have been a massive sellout, probably already past Morale's prime, but Marquez STILL would not take the fight. Morales must have his number. Marquez has really shown the weasel in himself at the end of his own career.....

Morales felt Marquez was beneath him and in worthy to share a ring so when Marquez became popular Erik tried to piggy back but jmm returned the favor.
