Former world champion Ricardo "El Matador" Mayorga has vowed to continue his return, despite some legal resistance from promoter Don King. Mayorga had planned to return on February 21 against the Raul "El Toro" Munoz at Twin River Casino in Rhode Island, but King threatened the local promoter, Jimmy Burchfield, with a lawsuit - and the fight was canceled.
Mayorga believes his contract with King expired in 2011. He claims the veteran promoter has not offered him a fight in nearly three years, which forced him to pursue opportunities in Mixed Martial Arts to support his family.
