Veteran middleweights Roberto Garcia and Norberto Gonzalez collide in a scheduled 10-round bout which headlines at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois.

The bout serves as the main event of tonight's Friday Night Fights telecast, which is guaranteed to air at least three fights.

In the televised opener, Erickson Lubin was extended the full length of the first round for the first time in his young career. However, the 18-year old wasn't required to fight any longer than three minutes, as Roberto Acevedo decided to quit prior to the start of round two. [Click Here To Read More]

First fight was a joke and the reason I rarely even watch prospects very early in ttheir careers. To this day I still don't understand the reasoning behind putting these talented prospects in with clubs fighters. And not very good club fighters at that. These kids fought better comp in the amateurs.

Second fight wasn't bad. Can't believe the WBO has that Polish kid ranked #3.

The main event was rather entertaining. Neither is relevant at the highest level of the sport. But fairly decent scrap, IMO.

I watch them and this was a good card. But I have to be honest and say that I wish they would put more meaningful fights on ESPN. And I really don't understand why they don't do it.

I know, I had it written as Garcia winning, but then heard Tessitore claiming the deduction cost him the fight, and assumed I misheard and the "Norberto" won the fight. Replayed to confirm that the ring announcer in fact said "Roberto".
