Comments Thread For: Arum Considers Cotto-Martinez Basically Done Deal

NEW YORK — Bob Arum was in Manhattan on Thursday to promote the Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley welterweight championship rematch.

The 82-year-old promoter expects to return to Manhattan soon to officially announce another HBO Pay-Per-View main event. Arum said Top Rank Inc. president Todd duBoef and promoter Lou DiBella are very close to finishing negotiations for the Miguel Cotto-Sergio Martinez middleweight title fight June 7 at Madison Square Garden.

I couldn't care less what Mayweather and Pacquiao do for the rest of the year. As far as I'm concerned, the only superfights that truly matter in 2014 are Kovalev-Stevenson and Cotto-Martinez.

I don't consider this a superfight in terms of significance on the level of Stevenson-Kovalev. But the hype will be entertaining. If Martinez thought the Thomas and Mack Center crowd was hostile, he'll be in for a shock as MSG. Supposedly, Paulie said fighting Cotto at the Garden was like fighting the devil in hell. I got Martinez in this fight. Mid rounds stoppage.

Because both fighters are always in boring fights right.... Please tell me what boring fights they've been in.... Don't worry I'll wait... This is going to be an entertaining fight while it lasts... I'm a huge Cotto fan but I think he bit off more than he can chew.. I'm still riding with Cotto though... Just waiting for the tickets to go on sale...
