  • Comments Thread For: Beltran: If Burns Doesn't Box, Crawford Will F*** Him Up!

Justice for Ray Beltran will have to wait. His next opportunity will not.

Beltran came up short in a title shot this past September against lightweight Ricky Burns. Their fight ended as a split draw in a bout that many observers felt should’ve ended with Beltran’s hands raised in the air.

He won’t be getting an immediate rematch, though. Burns, in his first bout back since suffering a broken jaw against Beltran, will face off against his mandatory challenger, Terence Crawford. Burns-Crawford is scheduled to take place March 1 at the Scottish Exhibition Centre in Glasgow and will be broadcast in the United States on AWE (formerly WealthTV). [Click Here To Read More]

Beltran is a likeable guy and should be champ. Hopefully he and burns do rematch to see if the broken jaw was really the only reason burns struggled.

Wonder if a rematch will happen if burns loses to crawford? Would beltran fight him for pride if no belt on the line? even if its later down the line after a possible crawford /beltran fight.

Crawford has a very technical style which just aint gonna work in england, hes got to go out of his comfort zone and be the aggresor from the opening bell...if not burns wont lose it,even if we feel he did!

There was talk of Ray working with him, but he never did. The only strength coach he's worked with is Rob Garcia.

Do you mean the convicted steroid dealer that Alex Ariza has worked under in the past?

I think this is going to be a good fight. Burns is the toughest guy Crawford has faced, I know Burns hasn't looked good as of late but I think he needs to get up to face an opponent. His last two opponents were really unknowns, apart from Beltran who was perceived just as a sparring partner.

If Burns feels threatened by an opponent he can step up to the plate.

I think this match will tell us a lot about Crawford if he beats Burns he's the real deal and the king at LW.
