Comments Thread For: McGuigan: Frampton Must Be at His Best To Beat Cazares

Barry McGuigan says former champion Hugo Cazares will meet a new and improved Carl Frampton at the Odyssey in Belfast on April 4. The two fighters are going to collide in a final WBC super bantamweight eliminator. The winner will get a shot at next month's fight between WBC champion Leo Santa Cruz and mandatory challenger Cristian Mijares.

McGuigan expects Cazares to be a tough task to overcome.

The problem here seems to be that Barry McGuigan is terrified of letting his charge fight outside of Belfast. Carl Frampton needs to take the rose tinted glass's off & head for America. McGuigan will hold him back all of his career, so it's time to move on!

Eh, Ricky Burns doesn't fight outside of the UK. Scott Quigg has never fought outside of England.

If they're going to do it why can't Frampton?

(only Andre Ward gets criticized for fighting at home apparently)
