Toowoomba star and one of Australia’s greatest ever boxers, Michael Katsidis “The Great”, 28 wins (23KO) 6 losses, will make his much anticipated return to the ring against tough Indonesian Eddy Comaro, 27 Wins (11KO) 17 losses 5 draws, when he headlines “Smithy Brings the Big fights 6” on March 14 at Rumours International in Toowoomba.

Katsidis, a former two time WBO world lightweight champion who has fought all over the world against some of the best fighters in the world and some future hall of famers, will step into the ring for the first time in almost two years and says he is very excited to do it in his hometown of Toowoomba.

My upmost respect for the guy but i really feel bad for him considering the unneccassary damage he takes. Uses his face to block punches really not healthy.

It least it's a soft touch (a skim through BoxRec says the guy hasn't fight anyone recognisable), rather than jumping in with some hard-headed Ghanaian like Mensah in 2012, or taking on Guerrero in 2011 straight after his 2010 war with Marquez. This is the right approach if he wants to keep going.

I don't know where Kats expects to be after this fight, since 135 is a dead division with only Burns, Crawford and Vazquez hanging around. I guess if he wants an actual belt, now's the time for one last crack at it - no more dangerous guys like Broner, Guerrero or Marquez around to set him back.

Great! Katsidis is back. I hope he's healthy tho. Those hard numerous shots to the heads over the years might take its toll sooner than he thinks. His team better be defensive minded moving forth.
