Comments Thread For: Alex Leapai: I Will Break Wladimir Klitschko on April 26!

WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO and „The Ring Magazine“ World Heavyweight Champion Wladimir Klitschko will defend his titles against WBO #1 and mandatory challenger Alex Leapai (Australia) at the König-Pilsener-Arena Oberhausen, Germany on April 26.

Last November the 34-year-old Leapai became a boxing sensation when he beat undefeated Denis Boytsov, the great heavyweight hope and No. 1 of the WBO world rankings. Leapai won a unanimous decision dominating Boytsov over 12 rounds and knocking him down twice in the process. As a result of this victory the WBO appointed Leapai the mandatory challenger for Wladimir Klitschko.

Good luck to him. Wlad will carry him for a few rounds, and then land a hard straight right in the fourth/fifth for the KO.

Wladimir Klitschko is the definition of a true world champion. Yet again, Wlad honorably defends his belt against his mandatory challenger. Many fighters would feel they're "too good" to defend a belt against someone like Lepai (who's style is very dangerous) and vacate the belt, not Wlad. The sanctioning bodies determine his mandatory opponents and Wlad, being the ultimate professional he is, has no problems and takes care of business.

I say 3-5 more legit title defenses by Wlad and he is the legit GOAT of the HW division, IMO.

        War Wlad

what an awful fight. i get that wlad can only fight who is around but damn there has to be someone more deserving than this. I think Alex is a great guy but wholly undeserving of a title shot.

What, break his hand from repeatedly punching you in the head?

Yep I agree, I'm not sure which punch but I think the fight will end around then.
