  • Comments Thread For: Early Results From Denmark - Masternak Wins By KO

Frederikshavn, Denmark - Polish cruiserweight Mateusz Masternak (31-1) opened Sauerland Promotionīs show at the Arena Nord with a fourth round knockout over Georgian journeyman Sandro Siproshvili (27-18). Masternak caught Siproshvili coming forward with a short right and Siproshvili went down and out at 2.34. The former EBU champ had won all three completed rounds but looked a bit lethargic in the first two before going to work in the third.

His fight with Drozd was one of the best fights of 2013.
Agreed.a fight that could have gone either way if not for the stoppage.I think Masternak should been allowed to continue or at least allow a rematch in Poland.

It was a close and great fight but Masternak has always had defensive lapses since he comes forward, throwing combos and doesn't really have one punch power, so Drozd's power kept hurting him. I don't think Masternak should try for a rematch so soon, but try and improve his defense, if he can.

Was it a mandatory or an optional defence ?
