If it is the negotiated contract terms as the release stated, it is certian he agreed to the 55-45 split.

Good to learn that the kinks have been ironed out. Now we can look forward to June.
But given Winky's style and what have been seen of Taylor in his two meetings with Hop, it may be too much to ask that the fight be exciting. In any case, what I look forward to is, possibly, put to rest many questions, principal of which are, "who'll win?" and "how?"

yes, thank you lord.. i knew everything would work itself out, fingers crossed
btw, notice the end part there "well before the WBC purse bid." My guess is they want this fight to be at least the 55-45 split instead of 60-40 that will be offered at the purse bid today.Last edited by restless_438; 02-10-2006, 11:35 AM.

"Jim Wilkes, Winky's attorney and representative, contacted me last night and authorized me to conclude the negotiations for Winky's title challenge, under the terms and conditions already agreed upon by Team Wright, Team Taylor and HBO," said Shaw. "Winky realizes how important this fight is to boxing and its fans and he is ready, willing and able to fight Jermain on June 17, per the contract.
Jim Wilkes?I thought Wilkes resigned? And yeah Winky realizes. He realizes that he has been acting ******LY wanting to negotiate with his "WINKY PROMOTIONS" which is not even licensed.
Anyway I hope this one's for real now. So June 17, is the planned date for the encounter.
