Belfast's Carl Frampton has revealed that his next opponent will be Mexico's Hugo Fidel Cazares, the fight was announced at a press conference earlier today.

Cazares is ranked no2 by the WBC so its an eliminator for the title.

Frampton is undefeated and ranked #2 by The Ring, yet he's fighting Cazares [a nobody] instead of Rigo, Santa Cruz, Montiel, Vic Darch, Quigg etc. There are loads of names around Bantam for him to really test himself against.

Did you read the article? It's an eliminator for the WBC title. The winner is the mandatory to Leo Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz already has a fight lined up against Mijares.

I was heavily involved in the negotiations for this fight and i can tell you that it was (for once) as easy as pie. Very refreshing!

Yes, as already pointed out, this is a fight for the mandatory position for the WBC title held by Santa Cruz.

We're bringing the party back to the fighting capital of the world, Belfast !

Why didn't Frampton just fight Kiko again? Wasn't he no.1 challenger for ibf? I'm glad he'll eventually get Santa Cruz though.

4 1 of the few times in his career Hugo will not have his physical size advantage & this will cost him + fighting in Frampton's town, Cazares would need a miracle 2 win & if there are Irish judges, forget it, he might as well fight him on St Patrick's Day...

Kiko is on record as saying he wants to fight Quigg first. He wants no part of Frampton again.
