Comments Thread For: Mchunu Targets WBC Champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk

Johannesburg – Thabiso Mchunu is eyeing the World Boxing Council (WBC) cruiserweight title after battering Nigerian-born American Olanrewaju Durodola to a convincing points victory for the North American Boxing Federation (NABF) title in Atlantic City at the weekend.

Mchunu's trainer Sean Smith revealed this on Monday, as his fighter's current WBC ranking as fourth contender is expected to improve further when the new ratings are released next month.

Thoughts on this one? Mchunu is pretty skilful, Wlod maybe too basic for him?

What I take from Wlod, he can be outboxed and he slowly breaks down his opposition. Power's the equalizer here....Mchunu kind of small too.
Don't know.... I'd go with Diablo.

I think Mchunu is simply too skilled and will win this fight by wide decision.

Wlod is good at surviving and weathering storms. He really should have lost to Chakhiev, had Chakhiev not "blown his load" in the first 4 rounds trying to knock Wlod out.

Agreed. Mchunu barely throws punches and he still runs out of gas towards the late rounds. If the fight is in Poland, no way Diablo loses a decision - you can't win a fight, barely engaging in the opponents backyard.

And if the fight would take place in the US, it would probably be Chicago with 90% polish crowd. Mchunu is great at countering and going backwards, there is not much to counter from Wlodarczyk, he has high guard and throws short powerful punches.

Could be in Jersey. Main Events got a good thing going there and Polish population in Jersey Area is second largest

Mchunu should win but that's if he doesn't gas himself out

Utterly laughable notion if you think Diablo is leaving Poland for a defense anytime soon.
