Comments Thread For: Fighting Words - Pacquiao-Bradley 2: Double or Nothing

The first fight between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley hurt the winner more than it helped him. That won’t be the case in the rematch. Winning is everything. Though that’s almost always the case in boxing, it will be particularly true with Pacquiao-Bradley 2.

So much rides on the result. Pacquiao cannot remain a superstar if he does not defeat Bradley. Bradley might never become one if he cannot win with emphasis, and especially without controversy.

Controversy is what soured Bradley’s split decision victory over Pacquiao in June 2012. The story has been repeated often enough that it’s now best recounted in abridged format: [Click Here To Read More]

Bradley is the people's champ and the people will always need a champ.

Because he's the champion the people deserve, but not the one it needs right now...

        Meanwhile in Bob Arums office...
Bradley is down on his knees working towards earning a unanimous decision on April 12th.

Not sure why so many people think Bradley will win this. He only "won" because Pacquiao coasted 6 rounds - 50% of the fight. He literally stopped trying, because he thought he had it sewn up and Bradley simply wasn't doing anything meaningful, just throwing arm shots.

So imagine Pacquiao fights hard all 12 rounds... he wins that first fight. What will Bradley do to make this any different? Stand and trade ala the Provodnikov fight? He'll get brutalized.

Don't get me wrong, mad props to Bradley for hanging in there with Pacquiao and riding out some very tough moments, but what does he have in his arsenal to change the fight in his favour? He lacks punching power, speed. He's all heart and determination - but it wasn't that which was the decisive factor in their first fight, it was simply what Pacquiao didn't do down the stretch. He won't make the same mistake twice.

This has Pacquiao UD all over it.

Only a KO will save Pacman on this one! If the fight ends on 12 round,UD for Bradley (new cash cow of Bob Arum).
