Comments Thread For: Arum: Pacquiao-Bradley Rematch Bigger Than First Fight

NEW YORK — Promoter Bob Arum said Thursday that a deal is almost finalized for a Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley rematch and that an official announcement is imminent.

“We’re very, very close,” Arum said at a news conference in Manhattan for the Mikey Garcia-Juan Carlos Burgos bout Saturday night in The Theater at Madison Square Garden. “The negotiations are getting down to the nitty gritty. We hope we’ll be able to announce it sometime before the end of this week.”

Bob's right, "WAY BIGGER." Manny can't afford to lose. Bradley can lose and still make money off the rematch we all want to see, Bradley vs. Provodnikov 2! If Manny wins, we'll get Pacquiao vs. Marquez 5!

The revenge factor and both of their recent fights with JMM make it much more interesting, for me at least.

The one time I actually agree with this old scumbag, the rematch has a lot more overall value than the first fight. I'll actually see this one.

Master of the obvious. I'd still rather see some new blood.

Other than the judges scoring the fight poorly, I don't see the appeal in the rematch. It wasn't a close or particularly exciting fight. I'd prefer a ruslan v manny fight as its something new.

But I guess this will be a good fight.

Of course it's a compelling rematch...Bradley is arguably now the #2 fighter at 147 and a champion and still undefeated even though he should've lost the first fight. So yeah out of the two top boxing names active in the sport one is fighting the #2 boxer in the division and the number #1 guy is going to be fighting someone who should be ranked like #18 at 147 I think TR has the better headlining event out of the two. Now give us a some decent undercards and let's goooooo. The true story here is what happens to Marquez? Seems like he may end up having to fight a nobody or have no choice but to fight Provodnikov. Or maybe Rios?
