Comments Thread For: Erik Morales Confident He Will Overcome Jorge Paez Jr.

Mexican icon Erik Morales (52-9, 36KOs), 37-years-old, is looking forward to his fight with Jorge Paez Jr. (37-4-1, 22KOs), scheduled for March 22nd at the Arena Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico. Morales has not fought since a four round knockout loss to Danny Garcia in October of 2012. Morales wants to have two fights in 2014 and then retire from the sport. He hopes a victory over Paez will lead to a major name in the second half of the year.

Very sad, another fighter that does not see that he is just a shell of his former self, he is just causing himself harm. Once a great fighter now he is not even 5% of what he was, permanent health damage is coming. Erik please retire.

No one's saying it's easy, but money isn't worth much if your health is gone.

Fight Marquez or retire. I hate it when fighters extend their careers like this.
