Comments Thread For: Figueroa To Test Out Hand Before Accepting Alvarez

The interim lightweight world champion of the World Boxing Council (WBC), undefeated Omar "Panterita" Figueroa (22-0-1, 17 KOs) is going to test out his right hand before committing himself to a fight with Ricardo "Dinamita" Alvarez ( Canelo's older brother) on March 8th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Figueroa damaged the right hand during a "Fight of The Year" battle last July with Nihito Arakawa. For the last five months, Figueroa has been rehabbing the right hand back to full strength.

If omar were a slicker fighter he could beat Alvarez with one hand, but the slugger style does require two hammers. omar gotta ko this guy anyway or a robbery is possible

I feel bad for Omar Figueroa because he's worked really hard to get where he's at and he doesn't deserve to have his career stalled by injuries. I hope he gets his hand back to 100% and hope that it's never a problem again. I'm looking forward to watching him inside the ring again and I hope that he is able to fight Ricardo Alvarez on March 8th.

smh like I said before, if he keeps fighting all crazy and all over the place his career will be stalled, he should be ready to fight with no doubts but he put it all out there in his last fight so now he has to see if hes even ready to get back in the ring

Arakawa's head must be something freakishly hard.
