  • Comments Thread For: Schaefer 'Shocked' With Guerrero's Move To Break Ties

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer is a man of many words, but he was speechless when BoxingScene.com asked him to explain the reasons behind Robert Guerrero's maneuvering to break his Golden Boy promotional agreement.

Guerrero's lawyers has started the process to break the contract through an arbitration with the California State Athletic Commission.

The former champion has been inactive since the May 2013 twelve round decision loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. - where Guerrero received a career high $3 million dollar payday. Prior to that, Guerrero headlined televised events against Andre Berto and Seluck Aydin.

Who isn't... what'd they do wrong? Offer him Thurman for an interim title? Guerrero loves collecting them! He was a unified Interim champ at Lightweight.

He can't be mad about Maidana getting Broner because the fans voted Maidana

        Mayweather in trouble

"I'm going to have to have a serious word with Floyd," Schaefer said. "These guys beg me for Mayweather and then I deliver them the fight and they lose, and I guess they blame me. You saw it with Juan Manuel Marquez. I got him the fight with Mayweather and he lost every second of every round. You saw it with (Shane) Mosley, who lost almost every second of every round and you saw it with Guerrero. I don't know what Floyd is doing to these guys."

yeah, sounds like Guerrero is en route to make this very relevant part of his career a very sloppy, stretched-out mess.....any takes on the culprit???......Iron Mike??-doubt it..... Curtis Jackson-SMS??...Hmmm...
I'd like to see Guerrero fight all of those above mentioned.....really just to see a good fighter fight again...and more importantly to see what he took in from that Floyd loss...aside from $3mm

In both cases as far as Shane and Marquez, they left GBP to go to Toprank and fight Pacquiao. If I had to guess, Arum is the one whispering in his ear that they can do a Pacquiao fight. That money can be addictive, once you get a Mayweather pay day, you naturally want another one, and seeing how a rematch with Floyd isn't possible, the next closest thing is a Pacquiao payday.

                  guerrero is a crybaby *****.

They gave him the mayweather fight and career high payday.

Hell if he actually beat mayweather he would be insanely rich. He told everyone that would listen that he would win, but of course he got shut out. Then decides not to fight anymore and wants out of GBP. Why who knows. Maybe Arum offered him a fight with someone but I cant even think of who that would be reason enough to leave GBP

makes sense. He is coming off a loss so he plays the part of a typical pacquaio opponent.
