  • Comments Thread For: Murray Withdraws From Fletcher For Felix Sturm Rematch?

According to a report in Daily Mail, WBA interim-middleweight champion Martin Murray (26-1-1, 11KOs) has been presented with a lucrative offer to have a rematch with Felix Sturm, now the IBF's champion at 160, in Germany.

The paper's report comes directly on the back of Murray's withdrawal from a scheduled fight with Jarrod Fletcher on February 1 in Monte Carlo.

Good for Murray for getting the fight.
I assume he's dropping the Interim belt as well.
I know that's what he was going for, but that was a bitch move if he really did fake an injury to fight Sturm

        Wait a minute... daily mail?
NVM.... everything they've said about Murray has been inaccurate so far.
Golovkin fight, purse in Monacao.... I think Sleepless was the one who told me these guys are hopelessly unreliable

Couldn't he at least fought his opponent instead of faking an injury?

Yea the DM doesn't know shit about boxing. The even a broken clock is right twice a day thing might be going down here though.

Seeing an actual injury would put me at ease

If this is true, did Barker decide to retire then?

I think Barker is finished. When punches to the face dislocate your hip it is time to call it a day.

I never rated Barker but I'm still shocked at how out of his depth he looked against Sturm.
