Comments Thread For: Servania and Melindo Head Off To The Wild Card Gym

Undefeated super bantamweight Genesis “Azukal" Servania (23-0, 9 KO’s), one of the most promising prospects in the ALA stable, has left for the United States along with former flyweight challenger Milan Melindo for a week’s training at Hollywood's Wild Card Gym of celebrated trainer Freddie Roach.

They were accompanied by trainer Edito “Ala” Villamor and will meet up with ALA president Michael Aldeguer who left on January 2 to finalize the setting up of an ALA Gym in San Diego, California where he plans to have some of their fighters train.
Aldeguer told us that Servania and Melindo will join him in Las Vegas where he has a scheduled meeting with Top Ran promoter Bob Arum and would find time to train at the Top Rank Gym while they are in Vegas.

Servania a good Filipino prospect...but he has a hard time at super bantam against any of the champs.
Only way is to bide time by fighting for experience, building rank and waiting for Rigo to vacate up to FW and fight for the vacant WBO belt

He's pretty good fighter but nothing special. He caught a lucky break against Tomiyama IMO. Tomiyama was coming on strong and hurting Sevania before the fight was stopped because of a butt. I like Melindo though, he's has a very good skill set. He was troubling Estrada on the outside with footwork and hand speed. He showed he has a pretty good chin too.

I'm very interested in seeing Melindo grow as a fighter. He's a talented young fighter. His speed was giving Estrada fits. There are a lot of good fights for Melindo at flyweight. Hope to see more of him soon.
