Comments Thread For: Ricky Burns: I Have a Point To Prove With Crawford

Ricky Burns will defend his WBO World Lightweight title against Terence Crawford at the SECC in Glasgow on March 1, live on Sky Sports.

Burns makes the fifth defence of his crown against American hotshot Crawford, the unbeaten Omaha star with 16 KO wins from his 22 bouts. Tickets for the event will go on sale at 1pm on Monday January 13, with promoter Eddie Hearn holding a press conference in Glasgow that day where he will reveal details on the undercard.

From what I've heard Crawford has sublime skills, this looks like it for Burns. Wish he would've taken Broner on.

youtube the kid. very well-rounded with great boxing, good to great power and shows grit when he needs to while using his noggin when required, as well.

Burns is no loner the same fighter who beat Martinez or starched Mitchell. His decline has been so steep, I dunno what the reason behind it is. I think Crawford could possibly outbox him, noway is there a stoppage but if Burns can turn back the clock, he could handle Crawford, rough him up and beat him.

It's sad that people tend to forget the Burns who schooled Katsidis who had just gone to war with JMM, starched Mitchell who was then still a very good lightweight and beat Martinez who was just considered one of Mikey Garcias best opponents.

I don't like burns but I think he might beat Crawford for the simple fact that Crawford has brittle hands

Im sure it doesnt mean spit on theae boards but I'm glad to see somebody from O.NE get some shine and share the spotlight with the city.. Omaha has a history for their talented and skilled professionals to move away and claim another city. Lets go Crawford! Keep rep'n and Bring It Home!

Correction - Gary Russel Jr. has the brittle hands not Crawford. - Crawford will seriously hurt burns - there is a reason why Broner high tailed it out of the 135 division! Crawford makes very good adjustments, has good power / defense / foot work / and speed ! He is the goods, used to be Timothy Bradley's sparring partner - Very good fighter !!
