Gennady Golovkin - GGG landed 41% of his total punches in his 4 wins in 2013, while oppponents landed just 25%. That's a +16 rating. GGG also landed 49% of his power punches- 11% higher than the middleweight avg. GGG's 13 landed jabs per round nearly doubled the wgt. class avg.

A major breakout year for all these 4 guys - I know you can only read so much into compubox stats - (most especially cos the percentages are only a small part of the story - the numbers are just as important, as is the power on the punches).

Golovkins +16 rating though is up there with some of the best defensive fighters, his accuracy is up there with FMJs 'cept he throws in way more volume - and landed more jabs than anyone else in the sport.

Kovalev also has a big ratio, but again, his opponents end up throwing very little in return to his overwhelming aggression (averaging just 2 powershots landed per round).

What is showing up is that in spite of all the KOs all of these 4 guys are far from just big hitters, they all have good boxing skills as well as the heavy hands.
