Instead of Kirkland/Golovkin, why not Kirkland/Stevens?

I think Kirkland KO's Stevens. Curtis Stevens is not even special. He's a short Middleweight.

sounds good, Kirkland would KO him
isn't Stevens already set for a comeback fight though?
he needs a soft touch after losing to GGG
and GGG should be in the title hunt next yr, forget Kirkland
if Kirkland and Stevens are gonna fight, the winner gets elevated
wanna see some unification fights at MW next yr
Martinez is wasting everybody's time with a Cotto matchup
the action fighters of the division can steal the show in the interim

Golovkin is ducking Kirkland, it's plain as day.

I guess this Adama character is a bigger threat than Kirkland is. I mean he did lose to Geale, Don George, and Dyah Davis, who are the only decent fighters on his resume. Adama's last fight was against a guy who had lost more fights than he had even won (17-24-1) but hey, "Triple G" only fights the best right?

Kirkland would demolish Stevens, it wouldn't even be a fair fight.

I think after 2 rounds Kirkland would be too much for Stevens.

That's the questionmark over this one though - Kirkland has shown himself to be vulnerable early, and Stevens often deadly. This fight could be over before it even got going - if it went past 2 or 3 I might start to favour Kirkland, but even then I ain't at all sure - Stevens is the better boxer to my mind and is dangerous to anyone at 160 IMO, a division where Kirkland is relatively unproven.

I would like to see this fight, but (depending on how Curtis shows up for the Ma***ski fight) Stevens rocks and drops Kirkland early for my money.

Kirkland - Golovkin is really pretty unnecessary, although Kirkland has shown himself to be a fierce warrior and tough opponent (except for some reason against Ishida) he does nothing really to enhance Golovkins reputation as a MW. If he could beat some of the other top MWs first, then yeah, perhaps - but GGG needs to be focusing on career MWs right now.

He's not the best, but he's sure as hell dangerous to anyone at MW. What's his height got to do with it, Iron Mike?

Kirkland vs Stevens would be a great fight. Someone would be put to sleep in the ring.

Might as well get the big fights now before one of those guys take a loss. Shouldn't wait like they were trying to do with Gamboa and Lopez then the fight may never happen. If Kirkland were to lose then he could still fight Stevens in the future right?

Kirkland vs. GGG should be announced as soon as possible.

A win for either guy should line them up for the Cotto vs. Martinez winner or loser.

lol, except you're gonna rip into Golovkin for fighting a chinny JMW if he fought Kirkland next. Look homie, just say Kirkland is shit now so you don't have to later when you and Dan_Cov try to find a reason to criticize Golovkin after the mauling
