Comments Thread For: Chudinov Will Target Murray vs Fletcher Winner

Unbeaten prospect Dmitry Chudinov (12-0-2, 8KOs) is ready to take the next step in his pro career. On Saturday night in Moscow, he picked up the WBA's interim-middleweight title with a sixth round TKO of Colombian Juan Camilo Novoa.

Chudinov's promoter, Vladimir Hryunov, would like to get him a shot at the WBA's "regular" middleweight championship. The "regular" title is vacant, but in February the belt will be up for grabs when contenders Martin Murray and Jarrod Fletcher collide for the belt. [Click Here To Read More]

Looks like there may be some good matchups at middleweight in 2013.

Dmitry Chudinov vs. Martin Murray is a good competitive fight, both are on the same level and either might win (Golovkin is on a higher level and would definitely beat either of them).

Dmitry Chudinov is a very good up and coming prospect but still needs some serious work & greater experience before facing the likes of Martin Murray.

He still obviously struggles with opponents with good movement & angles, and needs another 4 or 5 bouts before taking on top contenders like Murray.
Jarrod Fletcher (the likely loser against Murray) would be a solid test along with other fighters of his type - solid skilled all-rounders who are probably not going to make it past fringe contender or regional level status...

I will be rooting for Chudinov, but, while an interesting fight the past weekend, Dmitry showed many vulnerabilities, and I do not think he would beat Murray

Specifically: Chudinov lacks defense, foot speed, and does not have overwhelming power.
