Comments Thread For: Maidana Confirms: Knocking Broner Out Was The Strategy

WBA welterweight champion Marcos Maidana (35-3, 31KOs) confirmed the recent statements that were made by his trainer, Robert Garcia. Maidana says a "knockout victory" was the team's main strategy in order to get his hand raised last Saturday night at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

    that's hardly a surprise
didn't think for a second he'd get a decision, even if he earned it
thought for sure they were gonna rob him when it went 12
it's too bad he didn't get the KO on Broner though
now we'll inevitably have to deal with Broner again
had he been KO'd, we likely wouldn't see his face anymore
for that reason, a rematch is ok, Maidana can do him worse next time

After seeing what they did to Lara against Williams I wouldn't trust the judges to decide !

If that's his strategy against mayweather then he can expect a ass whoop pin coming. But maidan a does deserve the huge payday.

There is no way a pure boxer beats Joy Jr.

Maidana certainly is NOT a pure boxer.

Garcia is the one who has turned this game fighter into a better game fighter.

That gameness to give and take to give more is in his genes.

What sets Maidana apart from others that jr has fought is they don't come gamer than Maidana.

Maidana will be Knocked out while trying to knock you out but no one has done that yet. ORTIZ a big puncher did not get it done and feather fisted JR will NOT KO Maidana.

So how does JR win ? HE has got to stay on the move, he has got to counter and turn, stay off the ROPES.

HOW can Maidana win ? Do what he did to AB. Stay on JR go to the body, up and down take JR to the ropes , all the odd angles will definitely come in to play, one will get it started, JR will feel the power, his body will feel the shots, his legs will slow down, his age will catch up, he will begin to miss a step, this is not OLD MAN MOSLEY who QUIT punching once he had JR on ***** street, Maidana will take jr where he has never been, the trenches and has POWER in the 12 round so Jr will always be in trouble.

The Cur dogs are barking, old man Sr Weather and RogerQuitterweather with his head hanging down.

Maidana threw caution to the wind and. brought it to Broner.

Maidana is good and will certainly try to make it rough against Floyd, but he'll have as much success as Canelo did. He'll certainly miss a lot more than he did against Broner.

If anyone didn't notice it was kinda obvious that Maidana was actually not happy that he didn't get the KO lol... Broner better be wary of a rematch

Maidana wont land on Mayweather, but Pacquiao would. Floyd will take the Maidana fight for sure but he will contiinue blaming everything from steroids, retirement, Bob Arum, previous losses and money of all things for excuses to avoid Manny.

Canelo came in with the most ******est game plan. He tried to box pbf for the first 6 rounds please you had to be ****ing kidding me. Pbf weakness someone with a good chin that brings pressure like margarito. Pbf is not used to fight at a high pace he is used to fighting at his own pace. Only thing i fear Of maidana is his chin.
