Welterweight gatekeeper Pablo Munguia looks to defend his home turf, as he faces unbeaten Samuel Vargas in a scheduled 10-round bout Saturday evening in Mexico City.
The bout marks the second straight appearance in Mexico for Vargas (15-0-1, 8KO), born in Colombia but fighting out of Canada since turning pro in 2010. Munguia (17-4, 11KO) hopes to end 2013 on a high note, going 1-1 on the year thus far.
Their main event airs later this evening on Cadena Tres in Mexico, and also streamed live on WBCBoxing.tv.
Now up in the televised co-feature, Canada's Tyler Asselstine (13-1, 7KO) faces local featherweight Luis Montana (6-1, 4KO) in a schedule six-round bout.
