The scene is set for the last big boxing event in Russia this year. Tomorrow Vladimir Hryunov, the soundest Russian promoter in recent memory, takes over Dynamo Palace of Sports in Krylatskoye, Moscow, Russia, to stage a card billed as “The Winner Takes it All”. Today a weigh-in procedure for the chief players has been held to place certain numbers in the protocols.

      According to wikipedia:

After the death of WBU founder and President Jon W Robinson in 2004, the organisation honoured outstanding contractual fights and sanctioned various contests. In 2005 The Robinson family agreed to sell the business. The business was never sold. In 2009 the WBU ceased. The name of the WBU is currently being used by persons who have no connections, authorsations or represent the name of the WBU and Jon W Robinson its founder. In 2010 BBBofC stated that it no longer recognised the WBU as a legitimate sanctioning body.
How is this fight for a WBU title so?

This version of WBU full name World Boxing Union V, located in Coppenbrügge, Germany will be sanctioning the Jones Jr vs Benmakhlouf for their cruiserweight title. This WBU in Germany has no connections or authorsations whatsoever to the original WBU which folded in 2009.

Bizarrely there is a 3rd WBU full name World Boxing Union, Inc located in Atlanta, Georgia, USA which sanctioned the Glen Johnson vs Bobby Gunn fight for their cruiserweight title on wednesday this week. This sanctioning body also have no connections or authorsations to the original WBU.

What a farce that the original WBU world title was a paper title that no one took seriously and now we have 2 rival WBU's sanctioning fights for their cruiserweight titles in the same week! 1 was enough to begin with now we have 3 WBU's!

Wish Roy nothing but the best. Hope he comes out healthy out of this and not just healthy but victorious as well. I dislike the fact that he is still in the game for his own good but at the same time, I respect his love for it and that's something I can't criticize him for. Every man has the right to pursue whatever they want and we as individuals need to respect that.

          Go get it, Roy!

I picture Roy Jones showing up on the HBO set and Lampley just looking at him with a long stare.

And saying, "Roy, what the **** are you doing with yourself."

I found this weigh in video on youtube. Roy's outer arms don't look to be in shape like they used to be. Who is this guy training Jones for this fight?
