Garth Wood's loss has been Jarrod Fletcher's gain, with the accomplished Queensland boxer to fight Britain's Martin Murray for the regular World Boxing Association (WBA) middleweight world title in Monte Carlo in February.

Wood was supposed to meet Murray for the WBA interim middleweight title in Sydney on December 11, but it was cancelled after the Anthony Mundine-Shane Mosley bout was rescheduled to just two weeks before that date.

So Murray is on the undercard fighting for the plastic WBA strap against a guy that got stopped in 2 by our domestic fighter Billy Joe Saunders, whilst the legit champion is in the main event for his new Super Duper plastic WBA strap?

Cool.

I'd like to see the WBA in 2014 taking a leaf out of old school wrestling and release a WBA Hardcore belt, and perhaps a WBA Million Dollar belt and a WBA Undisputed belt.
