Roy Jones never was fundamentally sound but used his great speed & power to become a great champion. Once he got old & his speed went he had no technique to fall back on. Now he is a joke.

I really worry about this dude's health. He's been KTFO so many times, he must be suffering from some brain damage. If not now, some time down the road.

        Please retire, Roy.

He was definitely fundamentally sound. He was just unorthodox.

Did he catch Holyfield deranged syndrome or what? He will spend the rest of his life trying to make up for those Tarver losses even though he was a fight or two from retiring prior to those loses.

I gotta disagree with you there,, had he been fundamentally sound he would have made easy work of tarver just like hopkins did years later,,,,

No doubt that roy knows the fundamentals, and has a high ring IQ, but i dont think he was very sound in actually performing the fundamentals

In regards to the thread,, If roy looks good, then i wouldnt mind a marco huck fight, that would be entertaining,,

Roy needs to stay very far away from stevenson or kovolev and stay at cruiser

What happened to the fight with Anderson Silva? What happened to the fight with Steve Collins? I think Roy is going senile in his old age.

He was 35, coming down two weight divisions and was already badly slowing when he fought Tarver. Not sure what that has to do with fundamentally sound. You're talking about a guy who began fighting when he was four and is considered one of the greatest amateurs of all time. He was a very well-schooled boxer. Just unorthodox. You can't master the unorthodox without first getting the fundamentals down.
