Comments Thread For: Rubio-Spada Targeted For March For WBC Interim-Belt

Oswlado Küchle, promoter of Marco Antonio "Veneno" Rubio (58-6-1, 50KOs), is starting immediate negotiations with Salvatore Cherchi, promoter Domenico Spada (38-4, 19KOs), for a March date with the vacant WBC interim-middleweight championship at stake. Full WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez will be ordered to fight the winner. Kuchle wants to make the fight at the Estadio TSM, home of the Santos Laguna. The venue is located in Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico and holds 30,000 fans. Martinez is likely going to defend his title on June 7th against Miguel Cotto.

Can't figure out which "title" will be faker: the one Murray wins against his nobody or the one Rubio wins over Spada, who has already lost two title shots and has no business getting a third.

Nope, they aren't. Effing makes me laugh every time some knucklehead comes on here and calls one of the five or six fighters in each division a "world champion." Everybody's an effing "world champion" of some sort in boxing

Rubio was paid off to make Sergio-Cotto happen. His legal win against the WBC made him the mando to sergio and the only way around it was paying him off and promising him a shot later
