Comments Thread For: Joe Calzaghe: Froch Was Fortunate, Fight Groves Again

Former world super-middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe has told Carl Froch he risks damaging his legacy if he fails to offer George Groves a rematch after their controversial duel in Manchester last month.

Calzaghe said he believed Groves was dominating the bout before referee Howard Foster brought it to a controversial end midway through round nine as the 25-year-old sagged briefly under the weight of the champion's punches.

As much flack as Calzaghe gets for not rematching Hopkins, a statement like this just opens himself up for the same.

For Froch to live up to his own words he would have to fight Groves again. But damn, did you guys see the combination in the 6th or 8th?! I think Froch gets hit clean by 9 punches in a row, I don't understand how he was still standing.

          Calzaghe: The King of rematches.

I guess his own legacy is topnotch because of all the rematches he gave.

Kessler didn't deserve one, he won 3-4 rounds max

Don't see why he gets any flack for that. Hopkins can't beat that style, the Dawson fight proved it again. Overall lacking quality of opposition, definite flack for that.

Without a broken hand, with a trainingcamp and in Denmark, I'm sure he'd beat Joe easy. Anyway Kessler is not the major one deserving a return. That would be Hopkins.
