The Championships Committee of the World Boxing Association, after considering the claim made by the promoter Don King, returned Guillermo Jones to the status of cruiserweight "champion in recess."

This was stipulated in the resolution issued on Thursday that ratifies the Russian Dennis Lebedev (25-2) as the full cruiserweight champion, according to the regulations of the WBA, and advised to both parties.

It was a banned substance. He should have been stripped, just not banned entirely IMO.
