I for one thought that ghost would give floyd a tough fight,, I was wrong

Lots of people thought canelo would beat floyd,, i didnt, but nonetheless alot of people thought that floyd would be scared of canelo,, then he turned him into a sparring partner,,

Floyd has proven time and again that he is the TRUTH,, I dont like the guy, but to think he aint #1 p4p is crazy

Over the next few fights, i will take floyd and bet all my points and you can have the other guy...

Floyd is the TRUTH whether you like it or not,,, or 15 years at the championship level,,,

floyd first started being a champ when

      holyfield was heavyweight champ
oscar, tito, shane, ike were all undefeated and prime
Roy jones was just starting to take over lhw
Morales and Barrera hadnt fought yet
Canelo, broner, garcia were small children
      Butterbean was still going strong
Johnny Tapia was still champ and undefeated
Fernado Vargas was just coming up
Jermain taylor, jeff lacy, samuel peter hadnt even turned pro yet, and now they done
Ike ibeubuchi was still an active fighter
Pernell and chavez were still active

Damn floyd been on top for a long time,,,,

Prime Floyd vs Prime Oscar who wins? Wasn't Floyd prime when he fought Oscar doe? And barely beat him?

Oscar is naturally bigger so i would favor oscar 99 over floyd...

floyd was prime but up in an unnatural weight class, similar to when oscar went to mw to fight sturm and hopkins, and floyd performed much better at 154 then oscar at 160..

No matter what, floyd has been on top for a super long time, 15 years is like an enternity in boxing...

look at juan diaz, jeff lacy, samuel peter, jermain taylor, kelly pavlik, ricky hatton, have all started their career after floyd was a champ, and he still a champ and their careers are over,,

The true test of greatness in boxing is the test of time, and floyd has passed with flying colors.....

For me this moves him down on my P4P list. I had him at 1, but now he's closer to 5-6. Some might argue this has nothing to do with his boxing skills, but I think this new information sheds a glaring light on the catchweight with Canelo. Canelo truly was at a huge disadvantage going into that fight.

          Let me know your thoughts.

You must have missed the exclusive interview on here a few days ago with Dan R. He explained mayweather's longevity in a very detailed interview.

I agree mayweather has been atop the game for a long time, but he hasn't always challenged himself, especially the last 5-10 years. He didn't fight a prime mosley, ODH, Cotto, Pac, Williams, Margarito, etc. That takes away from his legacy, but he's talented.

This new story, though, is almost like being caught with steroids. It's damaging to his persona, which can in turn affect his boxing abilities. We'll find out in his next fight.

Totally agree that floyd has been very shrewd in his matchmaking over the last decade, but if he was just some protected champ, someone would have beaten him by now, just like they have bute, sturm, etc..

And floyd has fought a who's who in the sport, and guys like ghost, canelo, jmm are a tough out for anyone in the sport, and floyd toyed with them

What news story are you talking about,, would love to read it, but not sure what your talking about, can you bump the thread or provide a link,, please and thank you

He's a smart businessman who is the master of his own destiny.

I like the way he freed himself from an unscrupulous promoter and took control of his own career. Other boxers should learn from this so they don't end up broke like Pacquiao.

don't worry, TB. floyd will end up broke. trust.

he's has his own IRS issues, if you recall.

floyd lives in vegas. you can spend 100 million in las vegas in one night.

Floyd and the word "snake" dont even belong in the same sentence

Hes got a worm at best

And I've never had him at #1 P4P. When was the last time he fought someone top 10 p4p?

And if you don't make weight and beat someone who does, that W doesn't count. Period.

Well, you make my point. He's made a lot of very talented boxers look mediocre. So the question is, why not fight ALL of those other fighters in their prime? He would have been favored against each one, and rightfully so. Instead he took the easy route and fought lesser competition to preserve his record. That's not what real champions do. I understand he's in it for the $$ and not the glory, but not challenging himself during all those years will always cast a shadow of doubt over him. Even if he had lost along the way to some of those guys, he would still garner tremendous respect and adoration. It's his willful disregard to fighting the biggest threats during recent years that is bothersome.
